Albendazole is a broad-spectrum anthelmintic and antiprotozoal agent of the benzimidazole type. It is used for the treatment of a variety of intestinal parasite infections, including ascariasis, pinworm infection, hookworm infection, trichuriasis, strongyloidiasis, taeniasis, clonorchiasis, opisthorchiasis, cutaneous larva migrans, giardiasis, and gnathostomiasis, among other diseases. Albendazole also used to treat neurocysticercosis(an infection of the nervous system caused by pork tapeworms), cystic hydatid disease of the liver, lung, and peritoneum(an infection caused by dog tapeworms). Albendazole works by keeping the worm from absorbing sugar (glucose), so that the worm loses energy and dies. Ivermectin is a broad spectrum anti-parasitic agentused to treat infestations including head lice, scabies, river blindness (onchocerciasis), strongyloidiasis, trichuriasis, ascariasis and lymphatic filariasis. It enters in the body of host & binds to nerve & muscle cell of worms, results in paralysis & death of the worms. It also does not allow eggs to develop into worms.
